The Penguin Random House Design Award is an opportunity for students studying Art or Design at HND or degree level to engage in design for publishing during their studies and to experience real cover and page layout design briefs first-hand.

The title I've chosen was Oranges are Not the Only Fruit by Jeanette Winterson.

I've explored a method of Kintsugi to inspire the design for the book cover. As the book explore the main character, Jeanette's betrayals and love aided her journey through her adolescence. I wanted to showcase the beauty of broken things, that failures do not make a person, but it is how they grow from their past.
